You can treat acne scars on your face with a mild bleaching cream, many of which are available over the counter at a local pharmacy. These creams take time to work, some as long as a couple of months, but if you stick with them the results are very much worth it. Once the scars are gone, you’ll be able to see how much they detracted from the look of your skin.
Apply a face mask with honey and cinnamon for a cleaner, healthier face. Make the mask by mixing one part cinnamon powder to three parts honey to make a paste. Apply to the face and leave on 30 minutes to one hour. Cinnamon and honey are both anti-microbial and help to get rid of acne.
Getting more sunshine might be just the trick if you want to get fewer blemishes. The oil in your skin will dry up under the sun. You might see things get a little worse to begin with, as your skin’s oils will begin rising to the surface. Later, the skin will get drier. Within a week or two, your drier skin may not show as much acne. A good way to prevent acne is to drink lots of water daily. A good target is to drink at least two liters of water throughout the day. If skin becomes dehydrated, dead skin cells are not shed and this can lead to blocked pores as well as having acne. To rid yourself of acne, try to spend more time outdoors under the sun. Sunlight will help dry out your skin and remove excess oil. Your skin may get worse at first as the oil rises to the surface, making the acne worse. However, this problem should go away in a few weeks, when you will see that your skin is drying, thus, less acne forms.
To limit the formation of acne, try to reduce the amount of ketchup and tomato sauce that you consume. These foods have a lot of sugar and carbohydrates and can kick start the formation of acne. Try to stick to natural foods that are raw and organic to eliminate acne through your diet. To help control your acne, take on a ‘less is more’ approach. Use only one or two skincare products, so your skin can have the opportunity to heal by itself. Also, wear as little makeup as possible, and be sure to use makeup formulas that will not block your pores. During the summer, you want to protect your skin from the sun as well as breakouts. To do this successfully, make sure to browse the sunscreen aisle for “oil-free” products. It should say this clearly on the label. A product that says “sheer touch” does not necessarily mean it does not contain oil. Sunscreens that do not have oil will be less likely to cause breakouts.
Don’t use more than one acne cream at one time. Sometimes people are so desperate to get rid of their acne that they use multiple lotions at once. Using too much cream can easily have the opposite effect, since they contain harsh chemicals that aren’t good for your skin in large amounts. In order to prevent acne, you should wash your face daily. Use your hands to gently wash your face, using a mild cleanser and warm water. Rinse away the cleanser and gently pat dry (don’t rub) your face with a clean disposable towel. Doing so should remove dirt, oil, and dead skin and keep your pores clean.
Watch out for any skin irritations, as they can cause acne. Don’t touch your face when you can help it. This is especially important if your hands are dirty. Pillowcases collect oil and debris in the fabric, so wash them often to help keep irritation to a minimum. Sweat can actually be beneficial in the treatment of acne. It pushes the toxins out of your body that would otherwise cause more acne. Do not let the sweat sit on your skin however, it will clog your pores and cause an acne breakout that you will have to treat.
